Within the framework of the Erasmus+ project (Project Code: 2024-1-EL01-KA122-SCH-000214306) entitled “Navigation in European Strategies for Professional Development for Inclusive Education”, a staff training mobility will take place in Barcelona, Spain. The mobility will be attended by Evdoxia Panagiotidou (Psychologist) and Zacharoula Kostopoulou (Teacher), members of the staff of the 1st KEDASY of East Thessaloniki.
The training concerns the five-day course “Emotional Intelligence: identify, harness & manage emotions”, which focuses on emotional intelligence as the ability to recognise and manage our own emotions as well as the emotions of others, with direct application in school and workplace settings. Particular emphasis is placed on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) skills, the relationship between thoughts and emotions, and communication practices that support de-escalation and conflict resolution.
The main objectives of the course are for the participants to:
- understand the importance of Emotional Intelligence in contemporary education and in professional settings,
- acquire practical tools for emotion regulation and strengthening self-awareness,
- develop skills in active listening, negotiation and conflict resolution,
- enhance collaboration, leadership and creativity skills, with a focus on transferring these competences into everyday professional practice.
The programme follows an experiential approach and combines theoretical input with case studies, scenarios, practical exercises/role-play, worksheets and reflection, so that knowledge can be translated into actionable practices for the school and the organisation.
